Woodpecker Control in Kansas City

Woodpecker Control
A female Hairy Woodpecker

Woodpeckers usually attack water damaged wood on a home, but not always. The will readily drum on solid siding of a home. The most common misconception is that they are looking for insects. The reality is that they are usually "drumming" on the home to establish their home ranges. This is particularly true in the spring of the year.

Woodpeckers will drum on anything from your siding of your home, to your windows, to your heater exhaust flue on your roof. An immature woodpecker may even want to establish your home in his home range. Most species of woodpecker encountered drumming on man-made structures are Hairy Woodpeckers, Downy Woodpeckers and to a lesser degree is with Northern Flickers and Red-Bellied woodpeckers.

Catch-It Wildlife & Pest Control will do a full inspection of the home or building to determine the extent of the damage. All woodpecker species are a federally protected species. Therefore are method of control is to scare the woodpeckers away. We have had nearly a 98% success with the method that we use. With this success rate we have been using the same technique for over 23 years. During our inspection we will do the repairs that are needed keep out other birds, insects and moisture.
